Coverage depends on the signal strength and that depends on whether you have a clear path to the participant’s network. There is no way to control the spread of a signal. WiFi access outside designated buildings and areas is incidental to the intent of the provider.
If your home or business is in a participant coverage area, will Wireless Lakewood replace your existing Internet Access?
No, the Wireless Lakewood League is not designed to compete with existing providers. This is a free service intended solely for designated areas of the community. However, there is no way to prevent the spread or leakage of the signal indoors or to areas not advertised by the participants.
Wireless Lakewood is provided as a free public service by its participants,
and may not always be available, have the speed, breadth of coverage
or security that a private provider supplies. Therefore, Wireless Lakewood
recommends
that you retain service from your current private provider rather than
depend on Wireless Lakewood as your sole Internet access service.
